NAC: 3D Season's Greetings

Man.. this one took me a long time to make too. Most of my time was spent on layout and making some kind of "rig" to tie the strings to. I've seen this kind of technique on another card but I have no idea how they did it to get it straight.

The inspiration for this challenge came from the last two 3D cards that I've been making. I think I was talking to Justyn to see what other shapes I could make and for some reason a tree popped into my head. The only thing stopping me was how to make an isosceles triange. I figured that I could cut a diamond punched piece in half and then fold that in half to create the right shape.

Anyway, Savitri (http://www.scrapbit.com/) is doing a challenge with her daughter M's involvement. How cute is it that she's involving her daughter on her blog and creations? I missed out on the first challenge because I was a bonehead and forgot.

Here's the sketch:

So here's my entry:

On a sidenote, I wonder how much these 3D cards are gonna cost to mail out hah. Woops, I guess I should've thought about that before! Oh well.

Well Jaded...this is by far my very favorite! I would love to see a tutorial on this card. Have you ever done one??? (I think this card would be a great start Ü ) Trees are my big thing at Christmas...I have a terrific collection of them that decorate my house. This card would look cute tucked away on a shelf.

I've been going back and forth with the idea of doing video tutorials but that requires me getting a Flip cam and a set up like Kristina Werner.

But since you requested, I'll do a step by step photo tutorial on how to do this one :) I might be able to squeeze it in today but if not, definitely tomorrow evening.
