Cooking: Oodles of Noodles

Alright, so I haven't cooked anything from WC's box in a while so I decided to do that this morning. I'm a bit under the weather due to last night's wine fest and poker so here we go.

Mystery ingrediant noodles from whatever's in the fridge.

Justyn made himself an omelet with some leftover ham and cheese so with one egg left and whatever was in the fridge, I had a lot of options. What would go good with noodles? Hmmm, let's see.. I have some chicken broth, fermented tofu, pickled thai bird chilies, mint, Chinese pickles, and kimchi. I know! Let's make a spicy broth out of the chillies, tofu and chicken broth.

I boiled the broth and added the ham and noodles. At the bottom of my serving bowl I put a half assed cooked egg, Chinese pickles and kimchi. Those would heat through when I added my noodle soup.

I chopped up the mint next...

And here's the end result. It was savory and spicy enough to burn on the way down so that was good for my hangover, but I don't think I'd make it again. I should've gone to Tung Kee or something. Yes, that would actually taste better. *sigh* I guess my experiment didn't come out the way I wanted, but it was still edible. I finished it all!

Noodles and carbs in general always help me get over whatever ails me.

But it sounds like it will taste good! What went wrong?- The chinese pickles?

Umm, What did you use from my box? Didn't I just send you instant noodles? :P

Jaded,
Oh yeah. Ha! That was for you to make pho. I sent the spices for it. :) And yes, the recipe is on my blog so you don't go googling for it elsewhere. Hmph.
