Cafe Sua Da

Last night I went to Albertsons to pick up some condensed milk to make another goodie with Wandering Chopstick's package (I could've said "box", but that would sound even more foul).

Cafe Su Da the mother of all coffees. At least in my opinion. It's potent, creamy and easy to make! That is, if you have the right tools. Wandering Chopsticks included a single serve coffee press and ground Vietnamese Coffee (Trung Nguyen brand) so all I really needed was some condensed milk. Since Justyn and I have been stuffing ourselves silly lately, I opted for the fat free kind.

Here's the set up:

And the brewing:

I made a glass for Justyn as I didn't feel like drinking coffee after work and he was wowed by it. It really is hard to mess something this good up. Maybe tonight, I'll make some for myself.

Wandering Chopsticks: I know you wanted to see what I could do with the ingrediants you gave me so I may try to make a Vietnamese tiramasu with this stuff. Wouldn't that be interesting? Hee hee...

I had my first Cafe Su Da in the Bay Area just 2 mths ago. Love it...just that I prefer less sweetened condensed milk. Hey, you asking about Bun Bo Hue - the only one I know and tried and it's super delish is at Vung Tau at San Jose(recommended by Wandering Chopsticks too!). Have you tried that? It's not as easy to find Bun Bo Hue around here. Pho is much more common. But I prefer the former too-Bun Bo Hue!

Psst. Sua. You forgot the A.

And if you're asking about bun bo Hue, read my post about Bun Bo Hue An Nam in SJ. My friends say it's the best in town. No pig's feet though.

I feel like I should ask if you read my directions... ;)

Let me know how the tiramisu turns out so I can try it too! Darn, I don't have a mixer though to beat the mascarpone.

Tigerfish - I have been there. Really really exceptional food I have to say. I went there for my sister's birthday in March. The second time I went I tried their pho which was alright. If you say their bun bo hue is good, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the rec.

WC - Thanks for the correction heh. I googled it to make sure I spelled it right. Hrmph boo on google. I'll check out your rec too. :)

I'm too lazy to make real cafe sua da. I've been using the instant 3-in-1 mixes. Shame on me!

Enjoy the Viet caffeine highs.

Oishii!!! Yay! Thanks for visiting my bloggie. My hubby just tried to use a french press to make the coffee, but he said it didn't turn out as good. I think I need to buy another one so we could both enjoy it at the same time hehe.
